I was fortunate enough to find the tables at a yard sale and since we entertain the children from our local school at Christmas time, I purchased them so they would have a place to sit when they were enjoying their snacks and Coca-Cola. We have found that the "Fun Room" makes a great place for hosting our Sunday School Class parties as well as family reunions for both our families. The second picture is me with local newscaster, Liz Massey, who was doing a feature about our collection on her segment called "Everyone Has A Story" on KTHV Channel 11. Shortly after the segment ran we received calls from people saying they had seen it in Virginia and Georgia. The collection has also been featured on KATV Channel 7 as well as in several issues of local, state and national newspapers and magazines.

Above are costumes I made and wore to our annual Halloween "chicken stew". The first year I painted my face silver, wore white boots and when I arrived everyone laughed and said "there is that crazy Coca-Cola lady". The next year I thought sure I would fool them by covering my face in the polar bear costume.....but not so, they laughed and said the very same thing!
Now how did they ever know????

A 1948 Coca-Cola machine, polar bear, cup and cooler are just a few of the items that line the walls of the "Fun Room"

Polar Bears, Polar Bears and more Polar Bears fill one of the glass cases. The other one is filled will bottles and bean bags representing over 65 foreign countries. All of the bottles and cans except 8 have been brought to me by people who have traveled to those countries.

Hundreds of Coca-Cola ornaments adorn the Christmas tree. The deep freezer is wrapped in Coca-Cola Christmas paper and finished off with a big velvet bow.
Each year, Santa, a good friend of our friend, A.C., comes to visit each class during the tours for the school children. Of course the "crazy lady" gets the privilege of sitting in his lap and telling him what a good girl she has been!!

It was fun to have some of the young people from the first second grade class that visited our home return to the open house held this year. The grandson who started it all, Josh, is pictured beside me as one of his classmates looks at the thank-you note she had written to us after her first visit. We say the most fun of collecting Coca-Cola is sharing it with others. We hope to be able to continue the tours for the second graders for many years to come. It will be so neat when we hear the first child say "my mom (or dad) came to your house when they were in the second grade". Our middle grandson, Jordan will graduate in 2011 and hopefully we can have another return visit for his class. Britt, our youngest grandson, doesn't go to Lonoke public schools, but arrangements have already been made with his school for his second grade class to visit next year. What a wonderful tradition that was started back in 1996. We have the Lonoke Primary School Principal, Ross Moore, to thank for allowing us the opportunity of having the children, teachers and parents in our home each Christmas Season.
